Expo 2015 “Feeding the Planet, Energy for life” is the chance to meet and share views on the solutions about food policies.

The event is taking place from May 1st to October 31st, 2015.

The “Venice to Expo 2015”   based in Venice, is the exhibition where cultural, historical, wildlife experiences come to life alongside the “traditional” Venice itineraries to give an insight into the origins of the extraordinary heritage of the Serenissima Republic.

The Unesco Office of the City of Venice has joined the exhibition with the project Exploring the Venice Lagoon. Places and values of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The visitors  follow  the historical waterways spreading out into the mainland from the Venice city centre which aim to make them appreciate the universal values, the sites and the resources of the Unesco World Heritage Site. In order to expand a customized tourist offer the project favours a  web-based approach.

The “Muvi-Kinetik” computer booth at the Unesco Venice Office  is  a cutting-edge interactive touch-screen facility and an  entertaining way to learn about the lagoon and its surroundings. The screen will also help inform and promote attractiveness around the cultural  and landscape heritage of the entire lagoon with a focus on the sustainable and environmental tourism.

The Province of Padova, one of the managing authorities of the Unesco Site “Venice and its Lagoon” has joined the EXPO events and is promoting itineraries in its own area.

The project is called

“The Unesco World Heritage Sites Network in the Central and Eastern Veneto and other itineraries of excellence alongside the historical waterways crossing  the Padova area between the Euganean Hills and the Venice Lagoon.”

Based on   the heritage shared by Venice and Padova throughout their common  history, the project develops the concept of the network formed by the Unesco Sites located on this area. Water is the link between the   routes.  Water is also the feature highlighting the traditional river connections  and bycicle paths  crossing beautiful countryside and striking landscapes.

The  project consists of  a digital information campaign focusing on the tourist offer of the territorial Network of the Unesco Sites in Veneto.

It includes four routes  spreading out from the City of Padova, continuing   alongside the rivers, and bike riding on the river paths until they reach the Venice Lagoon.

The above mentioned UNESCO sites are listed as follows:

1. The “University of Padova Botanical Garden”

2. “Prehistoric Pile Dwellings around the Alps”, the Costa ponds in Arquà Petrarca

3. “Venice and its Lagoon” (Southern tip, within the boundaries of the City of Codevigo)

4. Villa Foscari, a.k.a. La Malcontenta in the City of Mira, one of the villas belonging to the “The City of Vicenza and the Palladian Villas of the Veneto”
