L'Oratorio sorge sull'area destinata alle sepolture, antistante la chiesa di S. Lucia, donata alla fraglia dei SS. Rocco e Lucia. Nel 1476 la Confraternita di S. Rocco acquisì un fabbricato per le riunioni del capitolo. Nel 1525 ebbe inizio le realizzazione dell'attuale edificio; i lavori terminarono nel 1542. L'edificio è costituito da due sale sovrapposte, con pianta a rettangolo irregolare ed è aperto su due lati. La sala inferiore rappresenta l'antica cappella con l'altare collocato sulla parete di fronte all'ingresso. E' decorata con un ciclo pittorico dedicato alle storie di San Rocco, affreschi attribuiti a Stefano Dell’Arzere e al fratello Gualtiero, entrambi debitori a Domenico Campagnola.

St. Rocco’s Oratory

The Oratory stands in the area used for burials, in front of St. Lucia’s Church, given to the Most Holy Rocco and Lucia’s guild of arts and crafts. In 1476 St. Rocco’s guild bought a building for the chapter’s reunions. Works on the current building began in 1525 and were concluded in 1542. The building presents two overlapping halls, an irregular rectangle floor plan, and is open on two sides. In the lower room, there is the ancient chapel with the altar next to the wall in front of the entrance. It is decorated with a pictorial cycle dedicated to St. Rocco’s stories and frescoes by Stefano Dell’Arzere and his brother Gualtiero, debtors to Domenico Campagnola.
