Situato nel Palazzetto dei Vicari, sede amministrativa e militare della Serenissima Repubblica di Venezia risalente alla fine del XVI secolo, il Museo è stato inaugurato nel 1993 ed intitolato a Dino Formaggio, per meriti e notorietà come filosofo e critico d'arte ma anche per le generose donazioni di opere che costituiscono il patrimonio museale. L'originalità della raccolta museale, conta ormai duecento opere di ottantasette artisti e non consiste nel documentare tendenze o scuole dell'arte di questo secolo o nel riunire artisti che si richiamano a un manifesto ma nel presentare un campione, sufficientemente vario, dei notevoli rivolgimenti tecnici e culturali che l'arte ha conosciuto in questo secolo.

Dino Formaggio Contemporary Art Museum

Located in Vicari Palace, the administrative and military headquarters of the Serenissima Republic of Venice, dating back to the end of the XVI century, the Museum was inaugurated in 1993. It was dedicated to Dino Formaggio for his credits and notoriety as a philosopher and art critic and for his generous donations of artworks that now are the Museum's heritage. 
The Museum counts almost two hundred items by eighty-seven artists. Rather than documenting the tendencies and art schools of the current century or reuniting artists of the same manifesto, it aims to show a sufficiently broad sample of the noteworthy technical revolutions that art underwent in the present century.
