In questo museo - progettato e gestito dal "Gruppo Bassa Padovana" - viene esposta la documentazione, costituita da reperti, scritture, foto aeree, di quei villaggi della Bassa Padovana che, pur avendo talvolta assunto un ruolo importante in ambito territoriale nel tempo passato, scomparvero nel Basso Medioevo a causa di pestilenze, inurbamento, bonifiche, etc. La superficie espositiva comprende tre sale. La prima svolge una funzione introduttiva esemplificando, con pannelli luminosi, i vari modelli topografici del territorio della Bassa Padovana. Nelle altre e' esposto un ricco repertorio proveniente dai resti dei focolari delle capanne (vasellame in terracotta pettinata e in pietra ollare), pezzi in ceramica, elementi di abbellimento (fibbie, spilloni in bronzo, perle, etc.).

Civic Museum of the “Disappeared Villages

In this museum -designed and managed by the “Bassa Padovana” group, you may see exposed the documents, consisting of artifacts, compositions, and aerial photos, of the villages in the Bassa Padovana (the southern area near Padova) which, even though in the past might have had an essential role at a local level, in the Late Middle Ages disappeared due to pestilences, urban drift, decontamination, etc. The exhibition area includes three rooms. The first is introductory and exemplifies, through light panels, the topographical models of the Bassa Padovana territory. The other two sites expose a rich repertoire from the remains of the huts’ fireplaces (pottery and tableware made of soapstone), ceramic pieces, and embellishments (buckets, bronze hatpins, pearls, etc...).
